30th October, 2024

As Uganda’s representative on the World Schools Debating Council, we are thrilled to announce the upcoming selection process for the 2025 Debate Cranes team that will represent Uganda at the 2025 Panama World Schools Debating Championships (WSDC).

Continuing our tradition of rigorous trials, this year’s process will involve two stages:

1. Online Trials
Dates: January 4th – 5th, 2025
Platform: Discord and Zoom

In early November 2024, all individuals invited to participate in the online trials will receive information about associated costs, participating schools, and detailed instructions. Additionally, we will open a form for all interested participants to submit their applications. Specifics on the application process will be shared in the initial communication.

2. Physical Trials
Dates: January 10th – 12th, 2025

This year, we are pleased to announce an expanded selection. A total of 36 individuals from those wo will attend the online trials will be invited to participate in the physical trials, an increase from the 24 selected in previous years. Information regarding the host school and costs for participants will be provided closer to the trial dates. The trials shall select Team A to go to Panama WSDC and a development squad to train ahead of the 2026 WSDC.

We encourage all participants to prepare thoroughly and wish them the very best in this exciting journey. We look forward to witnessing the incredible talent and dedication that defines Uganda’s finest young debaters!
