You are speaking at a student leaders’ summit attended by student leaders from all elementary schools from across Africa. The theme of the summit is “Building a Better Future Together.” Each delegate is asked to give a short speech beginning with the words “I have a dream.”

Expectation: Share your vision of the future on a topic of your choice. Whether it’s about education, peace, technology, the environment, or social justice. Use your opening statement to inspire others, then outline the changes you want to see, why they matter, and how young people like you can work together to make them a reality.

Task: You have the audience of all your classmates. You know the problems they face and their needs. In 3 minutes, pitch a commercial product of your choice to them.

Expectation: Understand your audience and tailor your speech to them, be persuasive and remember that you are one of them, use that.

Scenario:
You are attending an event under the theme; “Voices from the Heart”. The event aims at raising voices of young people using personal stories. The goal is not just to tell your story, but to move the audience and leave them with a message they can carry home.

Task:
Deliver a 3-minute speech about a personal experience that deeply shaped the person you want to be. Whether it was a challenge, a proud achievement, or even a mistake you learned from. Speak sincerely, share your emotions, and make sure your audience takes away a lesson or inspiration from your speech.
