DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to invite your school to participate in Paragon Rhetorica 2.0\, scheduled on Independence Day (9th October 2025)\, at Watoto Hope Senior School\, Bbira (ttv)\, from 8:00am – 6:00pm.  \nParagon Rhetorica is dedicated to nurturing African voices through dynamic competitions and curated speaking tasks. This year’s edition builds on our vision of empowering young communicators with the skills of pitching\,impromptu delivery\, and heart-felt monologues. \nParticipation Details:\n– Each school is required to present one (1) team of 7 speakers at a participation fee of UGX 300\,000 per team. Fees cover meals and other tournament logistics.\n– Schools may front several teams; each additional team of 7 will also contribute UGX 300\,000. Schools are highly encouraged to pay by 5th October\, 2025.\n– Extra students who wish to attend as supporters will be charged UGX 20\,000 per head. \nKindly confirm your school’s participation and the number of teams and extra students by 1st October\, 2025 through 0783938868 or 0706040460. \nWe look forward to welcoming your school to Paragon Rhetorica 2.0 as we continue the journey of unlocking the power of African voices. SUMMARY:Debate Cranes Community Cup - 2nd edition
DESCRIPTION:Event Overview \nThe Debate Cranes Community Cup – Pre-nationals Editions is a speaker development tournament that is convened by Debate Institute Africa. We convene this because the African debating community lacks enough speaker development tournaments ahead of major tournaments. We think that should change. \nDate: 5th – 6th December 2024 \nConvening WhatsApp Group: https://chat.whatsapp.com/BhvsH86jxsb2i5qPUlAj9L \nInstitution’s WhatsApp Channel: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaEDHrDDZ4LYAu5dN52h \n Objectives \n1. Preparation for Nationals: To equip participants with the necessary skills and experience for the national debate competition. \n2. Skill Enhancement: To provide a platform for debaters to hone their critical thinking\, argumentation\, and public speaking abilities. \n3. Community Building: To foster a sense of community and collaboration among debaters from various regions. \n4. Team Chemistry: To provide a platform for debate teams to develop team chemistry before a competition \nFormat \n– Platform: Discord \n– Format: Round-robin\, Karl Popper Debating format (6 mins\, 5 mins\, 5 mins for 1st\, 2nd and 3rd speakers) with each team participating in 5 rounds followed by a semi final and final. There will be 30 minutes of constructive feedback per round. \n– Rounds: 5 rounds\,  semifinal and a final round. \n– Feedback: Detailed feedback sessions after each round to help participants improve and prepare for nationals. \nSchedule \n– Opening Ceremony: Brief introduction and welcome speeches from Chief Adjudicators and Organisers.. \n– Rounds 1-5: Teams compete in 5 preliminary debate rounds. \n– Feedback Sessions: Conducted after each round by experienced judges. \n– Final Round: Top 2 teams compete for the championship. \n– Closing Ceremony: Announcement of winners and final feedback. \nParticipation \n– Eligibility: Open to all debaters preparing for nationals. \n– Registration: Teams must register online by the specified deadlines. \n– Fee: UGX 50\,000 per team.
