Event Overview
The Debate Cranes Community Cup – Prenationals Editions is an online debate competition designed to prepare participants for the national championships. This event, held in three editions on 24th August (1st edition), 9th October (2nd edition) and 1st December (3rd edition), will take place on Google Meet. The competition will follow a round-robin format, with each team participating in five rounds and culminating in a final round. Extensive feedback will be provided throughout the event to enhance participants’ debating skills and strategies.
All returns from this event will be exclusively used for supporting the Debate Cranes Squad in their annua calendar.

Objectives
1. Preparation for Nationals: To equip participants with the necessary skills and experience for the national debate competition.
2. Skill Enhancement: To provide a platform for debaters to hone their critical thinking, argumentation, and public speaking abilities.
3. Community Building: To foster a sense of community and collaboration among debaters from various regions.
4. Team Chemistry: To provide a platform for debate teams to develop team chemistry before a competition
Format
– Platform: Google Meet
– Format: Round-robin, World Schools Debating format (5 mins) with each team participating in 5 rounds followed by a final. 30 minutes of constructive feedback per round.
– Rounds: 5 rounds and a final round.
– Feedback: Detailed feedback sessions after each round to help participants improve and prepare for nationals.

– 1st Edition: 24th August 2024
– 2nd edition: Independence Day, 9th October, 2024.
– 3rd Edition: 1st December 2024
Schedule
– Opening Ceremony: Brief introduction and welcome speeches from Chief Adjudicators and Organisers..
– Rounds 1-5: Teams compete in a round-robin format.
– Feedback Sessions: Conducted after each round by experienced judges.
– Final Round: Top 2 teams compete for the championship.
– Closing Ceremony: Announcement of winners and final feedback.
Participation
– Eligibility: Open to all debaters preparing for nationals.
– Registration: Teams must register online by the specified deadlines.
– Fee: UGX 80,000 per team.
