Debate Institute Africa (DIA) is thrilled to announce the return of Petra Namuyiga as the new Head of Communications. Petra, a former National Debate Champion with Mengo Senior School, played an instrumental role in DIA’s early success as the curator of our first-year #RangersDailyDigest. Her expertise in communications and her cutting-edge skills in software development and emerging tech will be invaluable as we continue to innovate and expand our reach.

Petra steps into this role following the departure of Harold Sewanonda, who is on study leave as he pursues his bar course at Uganda’s Law Development Centre. Harold’s contributions have been vital to DIA, and we are grateful for the foundation he has built. Petra’s return marks an exciting new chapter for the organization as we continue to grow.

Currently based in Germany, Petra is pursuing a dual study program in Computer Science at SAP in Walldorf, where she blends academic knowledge with hands-on experience at one of the world’s leading tech companies. As a passionate advocate for both technology and education, Petra is dedicated to improving access to learning opportunities, especially for underrepresented communities. Her activism for women in tech reflects her commitment to driving diversity and inclusion within the industry, empowering women to lead and succeed.

In her new role at DIA, Petra will oversee the development of our communication strategies, helping us connect more effectively with our global audience. Her ability to merge technical expertise with strategic messaging promises exciting new initiatives that will amplify our impact in the world of debate and beyond.

We are confident that Petra’s leadership will propel Debate Institute Africa to new heights as we continue to break down barriers and create more equitable opportunities for learning and growth. Please join us in welcoming Petra back to DIA!
