Debate Cranes is Uganda’s team in the Annual World Schools Debating Championship (WSDC). Since 1988, the World Schools Debating Championships (WSDC) has been the annual world cup of high school debating, featuring more than 70 national teams. Teams from around the world gather to discuss a variety of topics, from international relations to economics and sports. The team management offers an additional 10 slots where two debate teams are chosen as development teams. These teams are trained throughout the year to compete in other competitions and potentially join the main team. The team is funded by the generous support of schools and parents. We are hopeful that, in the future, the government of Uganda will sponsor the team, helping to realize the dreams of these young debaters.
